Bagaduce Falls
The Bagaduce Falls are a reversing waterfall created by the changing tides of the ocean. When we arrived the water was flowing out into the ocean and when we were leaving the water was flowing into the river. There can be quite a change in the level of the water under the bridge. We went across when it was about an even flow. Jay decided that he wanted to run the falls before we left. I thought that I would sit this one out so at least one of us would remain dry! |
Jay prepares for his ride over the falls.
Jay disappears under the bridge.
He appears on the other side of the bridge.
The current pulls him toward the rapids.
The wild ride begins!
The boat rises...
and falls with each wave! (I think he took on a bit of water from the first one!)
Jay is on his knees in the middle of the canoe for better control.
The boat tips precariously to one side.
He manages to gain control and head for the next wave.
Jay moves the boat through the water trying to hit every wave along the way.
He reaches out for the last wave.
The ride ends as the water calms.
A successful run!
